Snow on the Horizon

I just met with one of my favorite stores yesterday to get them new product in time for their popular OPEN HOUSE coming Nov 4th from 6-8pm! A tiny treasure you may not know about on the way to Crystal Mountain. But if you live for the first snowflake to hit the ground so you can bundle up and fly down the mountain, then you should know about this place. As you pass through the tiny town of Greenwater, WA, there are just a handful of stores, a gas station, Naches tavern/restaurant....and this store, Wapiti Woolies! After you can pronounce it (Wah-pi-tie), you really should go inside. There you will find the goggles you forgot, the latest in ski apparel, brand name tees, coats, shirts, Robeez and other goodies for kids, and of course what they are famous for - a large collection of hats! You'll want to try them all on to find the perfect fluffy topper to keep you warm and in style as you shred. AND...don't forget they serve snacks and Starbucks lattes in the back of the store. A perfect stop on the way up early in the morning, or the way back down to warm up. The friendly service and knowledge of the mountain is also a great plus. Even the cruise ship tourists of the summer, stop here by the busloads on their way to ride the new gondala. Did I mention you can also find my completely unique winter sports jewelry for sale? Want snowflake earrings or a skiier necklace? How about one for an Instructor or my popular SKI MOM - try to keep up ? The brand new Crystal logo ones are also in production now and will soon be in store, so stop by soon.

No Time?

Today's crossfit workout was a toughie (as usual) - biceps and back. Burning up the "bra fat" for the gals and sculpting the "lats" for the guys as my trainer puts it. And she made a good point today. For those who say they don't have time to workout..."If they have time to FaceBook, then they have time to workout." It's true. Just those 20-30 minutes checking updates or the 2 hours for some, could have gotten you all sweaty (with a six pack perhaps).

Think of ways you can multi-task your workout, when you have limited time. Can you be on a workout  machine at your home AND watch your favorite show? Can you walk the neighborhood AND return calls on your cell? Can you be on a bike at the gym AND read that book you can't put down? There you go-two things at once. Everyone has the same 24hrs/day. Think about what some people are able to accomplish in that time. I often feel overwhelmed by my workload, the carpool schedule and the housework, but it's important to remember to breathe and take time to stay healthy. When that goes, everything else is on hold. Let's face it - we make time for what's important to us, whether that is time studying our Bible, watching a favorite TV show or retail therapy. So balance in all things and focus on what's important in life.

Hello FALL Kitty

It's Fall already. Sweaters and boots are out. The scarecrow is sitting on my front porch, and last weekend I scaled the ladder to hang a spider web for my three foot, eight-legged hairy friend we call Billy Bob from my entry chandelier. I survived the harrowing climb. We are working on costumes and Thanskgiving is just next month. If you (or your daughter) loves Hello Kitty, check out the latest designs for Fall/Halloween. Wear any October or November. How cute would she be sitting at the Thanksgiving table in her fall finery wearing this? Each comes with a 24" silver or black ball chain, which can be cut shorter - $10 each.
