Butterfly Pendants

I just posted some butterfly pendants as one more category under my GLASS TILE PENDANTS. I have so much fun glittering each wing for you. Afterall, that is the prettiest part of any real butterfly, right? The vintage ones almost look like those paperweights with the real thing underneath, set on vintage paper or stamp backgrounds. With the domed glass insert, and silver pendant tray for durability, these make a perfect gift for any butterfly lover. $14 for these pendants. Many other styles as low as $10 each, including 24" silver ball chain.

If you haven't been, your kids would really enjoy the Butterfly House located permanently at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. New butterflies are released in the exhibit each morning.

There are so many other things to do there, including the IMAX Theatre and King Tut Exhibit, which runs May 24th-January 6th, 2013. One of my favorite things to do on a day to the Science Center with my girls is to pack a picnic lunch on a sunny day, and sit on the rim of the big Seattle fountain, and watch the kids play in the water. (don't forget towels) A must-do family acitivity this summer.

A Tweet Journey

I have to share an interactive spring miracle that is unfolding before my family's eyes. A few weeks ago I was watering a container plant just at the entrance to my front pathway, when a sparrow flew out and startled me. I had the thought to check for a nest. Sure enough, a perfectly round sparrow's nest was buried in the plant, filled with four tiny speckled eggs. (Sorry Mother Bird.) I decided to leave her alone. You can see my plant is only half-alive, since don't want to water too much and turn the nest into a smal boat. We watch the daily growth carefully. Both Mom & Dad are tending to the nest, taking turns hunting, gathering or warming the little ones. They don't like it when we take pictures, so they are limited. Stay tuned for more updates on our feathered friends. And if you like birds like I do, check out my bird inspired jewelry HERE and HERE!

Older car + music lover = must have

Non-jewelry related, but still a gem. My kids gave me this for Mother's Day and they knew it would be a hit. Since I'm halfway updated - driving a car that's (a few) years old, but an iphone user with a large playlist, they (with hubby's suggestion) made my day. Although mine was bought from Radioshack for a little more, I see it here on Amazon for almost nothing. Worth a try until you upgrade your car to one with an iDock built-in. See the link to the side and maybe this will be a great FATHER'S DAY gift idea! I simply put this "tape" in my cassette slot (never used anyway) and plug it into my iPhone. Now I can listen to my playlists with good quality sound. Love it!

New York Giants Superbowl Ring

Giants like bling too! Just check out the specs of this super-customized diamond, sapphire and white gold 2012 Superbowl ring given to each of the New York Giants and coaches. Great thought and symbolism went into the final design, including the winning game score, past superbowl wins, team colors and inspirational words that helped them win. This gorgeous hardware was created by Tiffany's. Not bad at all. full story

San Diego Earrings

On this beautiful sunny day, I'm shipping a pair of my San Diego earrings (wish I was there right now) down to the San Diego, CA area. A perfect birthday gift from one sister to another!
