Diamonds Everywhere

Talk about breathtaking...some amazing collections and exhibits have been on display during the Queen's Jubilee, and one upcoming exhibit simply called Diamonds, taking place at Buckingham Palace starting June 30th - October 2nd, 2012. Many of the stones have names, including the Steinmetz Pink, the world's largest pink flawless diamond, the Ocean Dream, the world's largest deep blue-green diamond, and the Incomparable, which at 407.48 carats is the third-largest cut diamond in existence. You can also see the Crown Jewels at the London Tower, which runs year round. I saw this on a trip to London in 1998, and it was magnificient. That was before I had even begun my own jewelry design. I would love to revisit this special place with fresh eyes and a new appreciation for natural gems this large. As you can imagine, security is extremely tight. You dare not breath on the glass almost, for fear of setting off lasers, alarms and flying ninjas. If you plan on going to London for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, be sure and stop by to see these sparklers. You won't be disappointed. While I don't incorporate royal diamonds into my jewelry, I think you might find some other treasures fitting for everyday citizens.
